Treatment and counseling
This unit caters to any psychotherapeutic needs of an individual. Release the causes of psychosis, neurosis, marital, sexual and the relationship problems and other circumstantial situations. Treatment includes case works, Individual and family counseling , day-care, rehabilitation, medication, supportive therapy or any other function required by a client.
Persons requiring hospitalization are escorted in hospitals. Regular follow is maintained with them and their family members, pathological and radiological tests are carried out at hospitals. Medicines are provided to those who cannot afford them.

Day care, Rehabilitation and Daily living skills
Individuals with mental & emotional disorders attend this unit (including clients referred by other Psychiatrist / Ngo’s / Doctors). Clients are encouraged to follow a structured program wherein they acquire work habits, daily living & interpersonal skills; thus re-integrating them into society as useful members and or be able to live a relatively independent life.
Daily Living Skills like personal hygiene, cleaning, washing and other functional skills are inculcated towards attaining independence and a sense of responsibility, confidence & self respect. Yoga & Exercise are aimed specifically at reducing physical lethargy and inducing blood circulation to the brain. Meditation plays a significant role in improving concentration and mental stability. Occupational therapy involves painting, stitching, embroidery, paper work, bag making etc.

Each client receives individualized therapy keeping his/her symptoms, mental state & functional level under consideration. The variety of these tasks facilitate learning, concentration and replaces symptoms of day dreaming and hallucinating. Group sessions like therapeutic, educative, community, music, games and recreation. These sessions help them verbalize their problems, share feelings and common sufferings; thus increasing coping capacities and improving social relationships besides inculcating appropriate ways of dealing with their different emotions and recognizing those of others. These sessions also provide an opportunity for them to interact independently with one another thus developing healthy relationships. Each client is evaluated on the basis of behavior, cleanliness, interaction and work quality and is given appropriate monetary incentive.

Every one attending the program is provided with tea, snack and those who cannot afford are provided with food (lunch & dinner), railway season tickets/ bus fare. Once a month a picnic, movie or visit to a public places is arranged. Birth day of clients and festivals are celebrated. Clients are provided with clothes, toiletries, footwear and other items as per their need. |

Helpline Service
This is and exclusive Telephone Help-line and Walk-in, Crisis Intervention Service. The objective is to help those driven with worry, despair, depression, isolation, anxiety, loss of self-esteem or are tempted to suicide. Anonymity and Strict Confidentiality is maintained. Volunteers from all works of life are carefully selected for their ability to listen, accept, understand and empathize with those in crisis. The volunteers then undergo preparation and training for their role, particularly for their sensitivity to others, for their ability to hold knowledge in confidence and the belief in the value of human life represented by this type of service.
This listening service is non-critical, non-judgmental, non-political and completely secular; the emphasis being on total acceptance of a caller with his/her traumas and anxities. Calls are received from individuals suffering from depression, grief, terminal illness, loneliness, loss, family, relationship, martial, sexual, financial, professional, education, old-age problems and other varying causes.
Callers require professional care are referred to the Treatment & Counseling unit. |
